Hello friends, today I will share my childhood dreamy dessert recipe: a fruit custard. Every summer my mother used to make this every weekend and we loved to enjoy the fruit custard pudding. Those moments were delightful when I used to wait for the weekend so that I could enjoy my fruit custard. This recipe contains many memories of my childhood. This recipe is very easy and not time-consuming, if you want to have a dessert that is slightly healthy this recipe is all that you need.

Fruit custard contains many fruits and custard, I think that’s why it is named fruit custard. My mother says that custard was invented by a man whose wife doesn’t consume yeast bread or any other item, so he opted to create something new that her wife could eat and enjoy. I am not very sure about the history of making custard so this is all I learnt from my mother.

Best Fruit Custard Recipe

Fruit custard is very easy to cook and can be cooked by anyone even if you don’t have any cooking experience. I will share the recipe in the easiest way possible so that you can make it easily. You just need to go through this article very carefully and follow the recipe as written. You can add this dessert to your diet cheat days food list because it is not only delicious but healthy too as it contains fruits. The key ingredients of this recipe are fruits, milk, and custard powder. I assure you that this will be your or your kid’s absolute favorite dessert, so give it a try.

Let’s start making my absolute favorite dessert:

  • Boil 1 liter of milk if you want you can also take almond milk in place for full-fat milk and add 1 cup of sugar to it which is 75g in total.
  • Now take a small bowl and mix 2 tbsp custard powder in 5 tbsp milk. If you don’t have custard powder then you make it by yourself. For that take 1.5 tbsp cornstarch, half tbsp yellow food color, and 1 tbsp vanilla extract.
  • Mix custard powder and milk until it doesn’t have any lumps left then pour it on the boiling milk. Now put the flame on low and stir the mixture.
  • Milk will start thickening as custard powder has corn starch, stir continuously so that the mixture doesn’t hold any lumps. Boil it on low flame for 8 to 9 minutes. If you want liquid texture then you should boil it for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Turn off the gas and let it cool down to room temperature first then put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • Now cut all the fruits of your choices. I suggest not taking citrus fruit because it may create some indigestion because of mixing it with milk. I am taking fruits like mango, banana, grapes, pomegranate, sapota or mud apples, and strawberries.
  • Now take off the custard from the refrigerator and mix all the slices of fruits in it. And serve it in a bowl and top it with raspberry.

Key points: To adjust the texture of the custard you can add fruits to the custard before putting it in the refrigerator as it will be a little liquidy because fruits release moisture. But if you want to have creamy textured custard you can follow the above-mentioned recipe.

If you find this article useful or want to suggest anything over this then feel free to give me a message in the comment box. I will surely look to your suggestions. And I ensure that this recipe is very delicious and easy to cook. You will fall in love with the fruit custard. I suggest you feed this fruit custard to your child instead of any other dessert because it has many fruits and they will love it for sure.

Thank you.
